In a rollercoaster day for the financial markets, the Dow experienced significant fluctuations, plunging 800 points overnight before bouncing back to gain 3,000 points. The volatility extended to commodities as well, with cattle down $2 and corn showing mixed movements while soybeans enjoyed a positive day, up 19 cents. The catalyst for these dramatic changes was a tweet from President Trump regarding tariffs, which included a monumental decision to back off tariffs for certain countries while maintaining a 10% tariff that was expected to be permanent. This left room for negotiations over 90 days, except for China, where tariffs spiked to 125%.
